Marion County High School

Home School Student

Students who are home schooled, and wish to have an opportunity to try out for participation on athletic teams at MCHS, have that option per the TSSAA. In order to participate, the parents/guardians must make application to the Principal of MCHS prior to the first official practice date of the sport for which participation is requested. A listing of each sport offered at MCHS along with their first official practice date are found below.

Student/athletes who are home schooled, and wish to try out for participation in sports at MCHS for the 2023-2024 school year, must meet all eligibility requirements of the TSSAA. These requirements can be found in the Home School Rule Section of the TSSAA Handbook. This handbook can be found on the TSSAA’s web site, at www.tssaa.org

The following are the first official practice dates for each sport:

Requesting participation on an athletic team does not guarantee placement on the team. All student/athletes must try out for a spot on the roster.

Student Arrival / Dismissal Information

Morning Arrival: (7:00 – 8:00)

All students should be dropped off in front of the school at the flag pole. Students will enter the building and proceed to the Cafeteria. All students who drive should enter the building through the rear entrance to the Cafeteria. Students will remain in the Cafeteria until released at 7:45.

Students who are dropped off after 8:00 am will enter through the main door of the building. Students that drive who arrive after 8:00 am will enter through the rear hallway next to the Cafeteria. There will be an electronic lock with a camera door bell so that office personnel can “buzz” the students in. All students arriving after 8:00 am must report to the office to sign in.

 

Afternoon Dismissal: (2:55 and 3:05)

At 2:55 pm, all 1st bus riders, drivers, and athletes with workouts/practice will be released.

At 3:05 pm, 2nd bus riders, parent pick-up, and students who walk will be released.

Parents should pick their student up in the front of the school. There will be two lanes of traffic coming through by the bus stop awning. Please do not block the lane closest to the bus stop as this lane is for buses only. If the pick-up lane is full, we ask that you wait in the gravel parking lot beside the softball field.

Tennessee BASS Nation
Fishing Team Interest Meeting Announced

The Whitwell Fishing Team will be holding registration in the WHS Auditorium at 6 pm on 8/3 for the Junior Team (7yrs to 8th grade) and 8/4 for the High School Team (8th to 12th grade). **Please note** 8th graders have the choice of fishing with the Jr team or the HS team but must pick which team. Once I send the roster to BASS you can't change teams. We will go over the requirements for the team and answer any questions. We will be social distancing during the meeting.

BASS MASTERS
BASS MASTERS

Westin Moss and Josh Willis earned the right to fish in the 2020 Bassmaster High School Classic on Lay Lake in Alabama on March 7th. The pair finished in 8th place with two fish weighing in at 6 lbs 6 oz. Both MCHS students participate on our co-op fishing program with Whitwell High School.
